  • Clean cannon barrels
  • Clean heavy artillery
  • Clean turret seals for light-armored vehicles and equipment
  • Seal military enclosures and vehicle doors
  • Debur, edge blend and surface finish hard materials

For this kind of critical cleaning, Carolina Brush manufactures:

Staple-Set block brushes

Block brushes are the most commonly manufactured type of staple-set brushes – brushes made by inserting a tuft of filament into a hole that is either drilled or molded into a block and secured with a metal staple.

The tufts can be placed either in a straight or staggered pattern. The block can be made of wood, plastic, leather, aluminum or just about any other material. Filaments and densities of the tufts can vary with application. The block can be drilled or machined to accommodate fixture holes.

Carolina Brush’s state-of-the-art technology ensures consistency and quality for high-volume production. Carolina Brush also can also produce small-run, special application and prototype brushes.

Wire drawn brushes

Wire drawn brushes are a variation of the staple set design. Instead of stapling bristles into place, the tufts are carefully sewn in by experienced craftspeople with a continuous wire or nylon retaining cable. Two holes are drilled in a substrate. The larger hole is for fill material while wire winds through the smaller hole. As a result, the back of the brush appears sewn in place.

Wire drawn brushes are extremely durable and exceptionally versatile.

Twisted in wire brushes

Twisted in wire brushes customized by Carolina Brush are made to order in a full range of sizes from miniature to several inches in diameter.

Twisted in wire brushes can be manufactured with features including grip handles, wire-loop handles or screw-on threaded pipe nipples depending on the application.

Tube brushes are available in customizable lengths and diameters, and are created for narrow, barrel-shaped applications. Wire bottle brushes can clean cylindrical items including pipes, tubes and other industrial components.

Spiral brushes can be customized to metal channel sizes ranging from approximately 3" to a little over 7". Channel materials include galvanized, stainless and aluminum with the same materials available for twisted stems.

Twisted and spiral wire brushes can also be made either crimped or level to fit your specific application.
