Wire Drawn Brushes

Wire Drawn Brushes are a variation of the staple set design. Instead of having the bristles stapled into place, the tufts are carefully sewn in by experienced craftspeople.

Wire Drawn is an extremely versatile and sturdy construction. Filaments are held in place by a continuous wire or nylon retaining cable. Two holes are drilled in a substrate. The larger of the holes is for the fill material while the smaller hole is for the drawing wire to go through; resulting in the back of the brush looking like the brush is sewn in place.

Wire drawn construction is used where good filament retention is needed and quantities dictate.

BrushesDesign a Brush

Designing a brush can be as simple as replacing and improving on an existing brush, or it can require the consideration of a large number of variables that need to be investigated before the best brush for a job is recommended.
